Kristen Manzo

I am a mother of 3 children, 1 son, and 2 daughters. They are my treasures on earth. All are unique and different from each other which keeps life interesting. As a family we love to travel, my kids are little adventurers, always up for anything (they get that honestly!)

My husband Alex and I are quite the adventurers these days. We love flipping a coin to decide which direction to travel. Recently we visited a tiny house village, and spent some time exploring NYC. During our chill weekends you can find us on the boat or taking our group on a random fun outing. He has two children so together we are quite the family.

I enjoy reading, a fun DIY project and I hardly ever watch TV (ok except Marvelous Mrs. Maisel... if you haven't seen it you need to check it out).
I am a very positive person by nature, I bring that positive energy into all my client’s transactions. I always keep in mind the end goal is to help them find the best house within their budget that will become their HOME, or to sell their home for the best possible price in the shortest amount of time. It doesn't matter if you are looking for a home in Frederick or Shenandoah County in Virginia or selling a house in Jefferson County, West Virginia- I serve the entire area. I will work tirelessly on your behalf negotiating home inspection details etc for your benefit.

I choose MarketPlace Realty for a few reasons. One of the big ones was the integrity here. A perfect example of that integrity is our Market Release Guarantee. If I list your home and for whatever reason you want to pull the listing, we simply pull it. My goal always being to serve your goals, and if your goals change, I want us to part as friends and for you to call me the next go around. We also do not practice dual agency. It is perfectly legal in VA to do so, however we find it nearly impossible to equally represent both sides.

Leigh Phillips

Originally from Dallas, TX. My family and I moved here in 2011, and we have loved every minute! My husband and I have two boys who are very active in sports. They keep us running from game to game. As a family, we love being outdoors, playing football, hiking, and chasing our many dogs around the backyard. We are all crazy football fans. On Saturdays in the fall, our house can get pretty loud. Both my husband and I went to the University of Oklahoma, so we have raised our sons to cheer for the Sooners along with us.

I am on the Board of Directors for the SPCA of Winchester, Frederick, and Clarke County. I spend many hours volunteering with the SPCA as well as taking care of my pack of five rescue dogs. However, my real passion is music. I teach piano in the evenings and on weekends bringing the joy of music to all my students. I am truly thankful to be able to pass this gift along.

I am very excited to start this new adventure with Kristen and MarketPlace Realty. I love working in the community and getting to know new people. Real estate has always been a passion of mine, waking up every morning to look at the new listings. I am so thankful to be able to help others on the journey of buying or selling homes.

My Hometown

My Hometown

I love the Shenandoah Valley. Some people can't wait to get out of their hometown... I love to travel but I am always glad to come HOME. This town has been home to 4 generations of my family, my great grandparents had a large dairy farm that was the heart of many of my childhood memories. This was way back when my grandma June and I would sit on her front porch in the afternoon and count cars as they went by. Even though if I tried that now on Front Royal Pike, I would never be able to keep up, this beautiful town is and always will be home to me. It’s a matter of roots and my roots run deep here.

I grew up on Apple Pie Ridge Road. It was always so awesome as a child to be a total rebel and ride my bike across the WV line. This happened to be only a mile from my house but still I was in another state! Since WV is so close, I have both VA and WV licenses which allow we to serve both states. If you are like me and grew up here or you are just moving to this fine Shenandoah Valley, I will be happy to show you around.

There are a few hot spots and events you should know about. First things first, do NOT miss the Apple Blossom Festival. The first weekend in May will be the Grand Feature Parade, however festivities will begin about a week prior, starting with a wine festival in Old Town Winchester. The first Apple Blossom Festival was held in 1924. This is a tradition you simply must see! Winchester is rich in history. George Washington, yes as in the first president of the USA, had a headquarters here and you can tour it. The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley is a great place to start, you can learn a lot about Shenandoah Valley’s history here. Pack a picnic and enjoy a relaxing afternoon at the Gardens of Glen Burnie, right next door.

This is simply a sampling of our amazing town.  Its a great place to grow up, raise children, and plant YOUR roots.
